1.) Setting up a breadboard
2.) First Arduino program
Here is the code written to illuminate the 2 LED's.

The switched worked successfully and turned the LED's on.
Getting Creative
I wired a stapler as a switch, with the bottom part of the base and the top part coming together to light the LED. On the first attempt it worked, but I was unable to get it to light again (couldn't keep the wire securely attached). In my excitement(or frustration) I forgot to document with a photograph.
1.) Setting up and using the breadboard/Arduino. POT knob dims the LED.
2.) A look at the Arduino code.

Getting Creative
My initial concept was to put a force sensor inside a stuffed animal that when pressed with a certain force would illuminate LED eyes. I was unable to find a force sensor so shifted ideas. Using a photocell, I hoped to light the LED eyes based on levels of light detected.
Updated Arduino code (should work now).
